Membership in the DL&WRRHS

Membership in the Society is by calendar year from January 1st to December 31st. All membership levels include one year of the Society newsletter, The Roustabout, and magazine, Lackawanna Railroad History. Additionally, members enjoy special pricing for Society events and merchandise and access to members only content and services on the Society's web site when available.

NOTE: New memberships received online or by mail after September 30th are effective starting the following membership year, which begins January 1st. Current active renewing members cannot renew online for the next membership year until October 1st.

Join or Renew Online

New, renewing and renewing lapsed members may pay for their membership online using a credit card, debit card or PayPal account using the online membership form. You do not need a PayPal account to pay by credit or debit card on the PayPal website. For your protection, all payment information and payment processing is handled via PayPal's secure payment site. The Society does not have access to or store any credit card, debit card or PayPal account information.

Renewing and renewing lapsed members will need their member number when renewing online. Please see below for more information.

Join or Renew by Mail

If you prefer to pay by check or money order, you may download and print the appropriate new or renewing membership form below. Make payment to the DL&WRRHS and mail to the address listed on the form. Please note that renewing and renewing lapsed members should use the renewing member form. Please include your member number on the form. If your address has changed in the past year or since you were last a member, check the box on the form. It will be greatly appreciated.

Member Numbers

Renewing and renewing lapsed members will require their DL&WRRHS member number when renewing online and it is very desirable and helpful to include it on the renewing member form. It helps speed up the processing of your renewal.

Your member number is a 1 to 3 digit number on the first line of the address label of all mailings you receive from the Society. If you opted to receive the newsletter and other mailings via email, you member number is provided in the body of the email notification. If you simply cannot remember or otherwise access your member number, use the contact form to request it. You will need to provide your name and address in the request. Your name and address information is essential for your request to be processed.

Renewing Lapsed Members

You are a renewing lapsed member if at some time in the past you were a member, but have not renewed your membership in a year or more. In other words, you were not an active member in the year immediately preceding the upcoming membership year or did not renew for the current membership year before October 1st of the current membership year.

For example, you are considered a lapsed member if you were a member in 2013, not a member in 2014 and are rejoining for the membership year 2015. Another example, you are not a lapsed member if you were a member in 2013 and renewed for 2014 by September 30, 2014. If you didn't renew until after September 30th, you would be a lapsed member. Your renewal would apply to the next membership year, in this case 2015.
